EvoBots is inspired by classics of the monster-taming genre but optimized for a mobile experience.
Monster taming, combat and exploration are the three core elements of EvoBots.
Try to catch as many EvoBots as possible and train them for battle. The game combines turn-based battles with puzzle elements in a creative way, so there are always new surprises in store.
Puzzles are not only important in combat but are also an essential part of the game world. Only those who carefully explore the world will be able to discover all its secrets.
The combat system is inspired by turn-based RPG battles. But instead of mana or other resources, your EvoBots need energy to carry out their attacks. You must therefore collect energy on the energy field by matching energy tiles. Attacks, abilities and the environment can influence the energy field. In cold areas, for example, energy tiles can freeze and cannot be collected until the ice is destroyed. You must therefore constantly adapt your battle strategy to the environment and the abilities of your opponents.
Each attack has a specific energy type and is only charged when the corresponding energy tiles are collected. Find out your opponent's weakness and attack with the most effective move. Try to build your team of three EvoBots skillfully and be prepared for any situation!
Keep in mind, in EvoBots it is not always the best strategy to collect as much energy as possible, but the right timing is often the key.
EvoBots is a game about exploration. Your journey will take you across a ruined kingdom, with many different biomes and interesting locations.
EvoBots lurk in the grass and attack you if you get too close. Fortunately, shaking grass indicates where Evobots are located, so you can usually avoid them easily. However, you never know which EvoBot is in the grass. That's why it's worth risking a fight every now and then to get that nostalgic feeling when you encounter a new creature for the first time.
There a not only lots of EvoBots waiting for you but also numerous secrets and puzzles. The remnants of civilization invite you to explore and and long abandoned constructions often block your path. If you can solve their puzzles, you will be rewarded with secret areas and treasures that will give you an advantage on your journey.
The world of EvoBots will gradually open up and items will help you to get to previously unreachable places. Sometimes it's wise to return to old areas and look for secrets you didn't notice before.
Trapeder, materials and upgrades are important to improve your team.
To control EvoBots, you must first catch them using a trapeder. These strange devices were recently invented and can attract and bind EvoBots. If you use a Trapeder in a certain area, it will randomly catch an EvoBot that appears in that area. However, there are also trapeders said to be in development, which only attract EvoBots of a certain type or are intended to specifically catch EvoBots in battle.
If you defeat EvoBots in battle, they will drop certain materials. Your EvoBots need these materials so that they can be leveled up and learn new attacks. Particularly rare materials even help EvoBots reach the next level of evolution.
Each EvoBot has a unique upgrade grid. You can place upgrades on the grid to improve the stats of your EvoBots. However, the differently shaped upgrades do not fit into every grid layout. The more free upgrade blocks an EvoBot has, the greater its potential. EvoBots that have almost all the blocks are particularly rare and even differ in color from their counterparts. These rare EvoBots are called variants.
Catch EvoBots, collect materials and upgrades and continue to improve your team to be able to survive against even the strongest opponents.
EvoBots and their attack moves are categorized into five different energy types: BIO, FOSSIL, SOLAR, WIND and MYSTO. Each EvoBot species has different strengths and weaknesses against different energy types.
EvoBots in this category convert organic substances, such as plants, into energy. They often have cutting tools to harvest plants and fermentation chambers to produce fuel.
EvoBots in this category feed on coal, gas and oil. They use drills and shovels to dig for resources which they burn in their furnace bodies.
EvoBots in this category obtain energy from the power of the sun. Their armor, horns and shields have the ability to absorb sunlight.
EvoBots in this category draw energy from wind and tidal power. Rotors, propellers and sails are typical features of WIND-EvoBots.
EvoBots in this category are powered by an unknown energy that has yet to be explained. Their bodies resemble hollow shells that protect the energy inside.
Universal is not actually one of the energy types. But there are moves that use this energy. Universal energy is created when an EvoBot absorbs energy of a type for which it has no use. When, for example, an EvoBot without SOLAR-type-attacks absorbs SOLAR-energy, this energy will be converted to universal energy, and charge universal attacks.
The Ground Expedition Team is trying to prepare for humanity's return to the Ground. That's why a base was built in the ruins of Anova and now attempts are being made to rebuild this old imperial city.
Search the world for wood and stone and collect them in small mini-games. You need these resources to advance Anova's reconstruction efforts. As you build different buildings, you unlock certain benefits. For example, you can build a workshop where you can craft useful items or a bazaar where you can exchange resources.
It is your decision which buildings you build first and whether you want to support the reconstruction efforts at all.
Repurposed escape pods serve as new homes for the residents of Anova.
